Susan Woodburn was born and raised in California, spending many summers on the coast. Her free spirit and emotion embody her colorful and impressionistic work focusing on florals, still life and landscapes. Susan works primarily in oil and captures dramatic color and light with powerful composition.

Susan has spent a lifetime developing her artistic and creative abilities through teaching, photography, interior design and raising a beautiful family. It was only after her three children were grown that she had the time to discover her talent and passion for painting. Susan has taken many classes and workshops that have further developed her impressionistic style and use of color in her work. She has studied under Jim Crompton, Ellen DIamond and Alice Williams.

Susan is a member of the American Impressionist Society, Jacksonville Coalition of the Visual Arts and the Blowing Rock Art & HIstory Museum. She has displayed her works in areas of Florida and North Carolina. She currently resides and maintains two working studios in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Blowing Rock, NC.
